The building that now houses Kaatjes Résidence was originally built around 1860 as a private house. From 1926 it was used by a cattle feed company until after many years standing empty it was put into use as a hotel in 1985. Recently the building was thoroughly rebuilt and modernized matching all the wishes of an international traveller. In summer you can spend time in our lovely garden watching the lifely live of the harbour. Located in a typical Dutch village surrounded by the famous Dutch lakes.
Kaatjes Résidence is prominently situated in the heart of the picturesque harbour town of Blokzijl in the centre of the Netherlands. The charming building that houses the luxurious hotel dates back to 1860 and exudes quiet grandeur. The small scale of the hotel makes your stay all the more personal and intimate. Our seven luxurious hotel rooms are elegantly and comfortably furnished. Eating breakfast or lunch in our lounge or outside on the terrace with view of the water and the passing pleasure craft is a memorable experience. The English hotel garden affords complete privacy. Here you can relax in a comfortable armchair. In the summer you can laze in the shade of the mulberry and fruit trees. Restaurant Kaatje bij de Sluis
The Restaurant Kaatje bij de Sluis, one Michelin star, offers a French light cuisine. It‘s speciality is; “Lasagne” of Canadien lobster with green asperagus, laurel oil and a jus of lobster.
All vegatables are cultivated in the restaurant‘s own organic garden in “De Heidevlinder”. The winelist offers a fantastic selection of wines from around the world.
